Give Judy my notice
I lost my job this morning. Apparently, my company is doing a massive sweep, worse than the one in January, and I got a phone call from HR, probably at 11:11 on the dot; wouldn't that be cute? Anyway, it's been time for me to move on for quite a while, and apparently the universe decided to give me a kick in the pants, since I wasn't about to make that decision... not in this economy, not without blah blah blah, not until yadda yadda... but hell, why not now? Now is the perfect time. It's spring. Time for new beginnings, right? Did you read my last entry? Thinly veiled much? Boy.
The best part-I actually had to cheer up my boss and the HR guy. If that isn't screwy, then I don't know what is.
I'm very sorry for everyone else who got canned today. I'm sorry for the people who had to leave in January, and I'm sorry for those people whose phones are bound to ring this afternoon. It's a shitty, shitty time in the world, and all I can say is that I hope it gets better for all of us, and fast.
I'm going to Athens this afternoon to make out with my boyfriend, then tomorrow morning I'm coming back to Columbus to hang out with my best friend, eat cookies and work on my new website. I am pretty excited about this opportunity and whatever adventures lie ahead. I'm serious. I needed this.
