A Moment Last November

Cast this wretched
Turmoil to the ground.
Press it under your boot
Until it cracks and splinters.
Let wind litter it around
The sidewalk with the leaves.

Now nothing is left,
Save me and cold.
If only I could force
This biting chill
To the pavement also.

Alas, its colors avoid grasp,
Save the rosy complexion
It burns on my cheeks -
Like the salty tracks
Of your departure,
Searing my skin.

A mnemonic of you
Has defined itself
In my expressions
Forever.
