Poker

Two days ago Pam and I decided to have another game of heads up poker which we have been doing fairly often. I would like to let it be known that since we started playing I have yet to lose a game. I have gotten down very low but never lost. Throughout this particular game Pam was starting to get very upset with me. I would raise when she had the type of hands that she really wanted to see a flop. Sometimes she would make the call and I would make a continuation bet regardless of if I hit or not. On top of that she was getting frustrated because I would fold pre-flop almost everytime she had a good statring hand.

The last three hands of our game were like this: We are fairly even stacked after about an hour of playing and I get dealt Ks Js. I raise the bet to 1200. Pam calls. The flop came down 8s 8h 6s. I make a continuation bet of 1200 to hopefully drive her out of the hand in case I dont finish my flush. Pam calls. The turn is an As. Now I've made the nut flush but I'm still worried about the full house. I check to see where Pam is at. She checks it as well. The river is the 2d. I make a bet of 2500. Pam calls. She shows me her Ace which is clearly beaten.

The next hand Pam moves all-in pre-flop. If you have never played against Pam at poker then know that Pam never EVER plays the pre-flop game at Texas Hold'Em. She likes to see the cards come down and make her decisions from there. I look down at K 2 off-siut and let it go. She shows me her pocket Q's.

The final hand I get dealt K Q of hearts. Pam is first to act and she moves all-in again. This time I call due to stack size. She shows up her A K of diamond. The flop comes down as 10h Jh 6s. ZOMG! I have a royal flush draw, a straight flush draw, a flush draw, and a Q can still give me the hand. The turn is the 8h. WOOT! The river? The 9h. So I end up winning the night with a King high 6 card straight flush, making it the highest hand I have ever obtained in my poker career.

World of Warcraft

Last night the mother-in-law was over to watch movies with Pam I spent the entire night playing World of Warcraft. I managed to hit level 69 last night and im about 25% of the way to level 70. Either tonight or tomorrow I will be starting my key quests so that I can enter Kharazan with the rest of my guild and get some phat phat loot. For those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about, Kharazan is a large tower where the old wizard Medhiv lived during the time of Warcraft 1. You need to complate a special quest line before you can obtain the key to enter it. Inside is a large dungeon that you take on with 9 other guild members. There is some very amazing equipment to be had from any of the 22 bosses that lurk within its depths. I look forward to taking part in the guild raids. Oddly enough, I'm more excited about getting keyed for Kharazan than I am about hitting level 70.

Life in General

Things have been going ok in the last two days. It is possible we may be playing poker again this weekend to catch up on our schedule we have fallen behind. Work has been good to me as well. The new building is absolutely kicking ass. I don't miss my old post in the slightest. My buddy Dan is coming over for dinner on Friday unless he catches the plague yet again. I forget what Pam is making though.

All and all things remain simple this week. Just the way I like it.
