Civilization

Halfway there. I at least have Internet in my house but I don't have TV. They need to run new cables and the guy who came to install stuff couldn't do that. New cabling will be coming on Friday and the TV install is on Monday. Fortunately, nothing exciting is happening at work so no one has really missed me being essentially offline.

It's slow, but steady, progress. My computer is up. My office is mostly ready. The kitchen is nearly complete. My entertainment center is just lacking a content provider. Things I still need (and won't be getting soon): a couch to fill the gigantic living room and many bookcases/display shelves. There's probably other stuff, too, but those are the ones that stick out most.

Most importantly, though, I'm in San Diego. I've really missed this place. Driving around has been a fun, nostalgic trip. Periodically when I'm out it takes a few moments to shake the nagging phantom dread that I still have a return trip to OC ahead of me. I think once I'm fully settled in and back on a regular routine it will fade.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and I hope you all have a wonderful New Year.
