Lets see... rant for the day... Well, since it just came out, I think I know of a good ranting target... Oh, and there might be spoilers, but more for the games and not the movie.
Oh where do I start... Lets see... You have a legion of fans who drool over you just because you have long silver hair, show off your chest, and... I don't know even. Your major accomplishments as a villain include burning a village to the ground and killing all but TWO of the inhabitants, murdering the head of a mega-corperation, and... well I suppose we could add doing enough damage to a city to make it damn near uninhabitable, along with the numerous other deaths that came with it or on your path to "god-hood". Oh, and the murder of the heroine (or one of them at the least.)
Lets compare you to your counterparts in previous FF games.
- FF, Gaheleon: Well... he didn't do much. Started off with kidnapping, but at the same time he was the one who ended up releasing the Four Fiends AND threw all of time into an infinite loop. Honestly, this one is a toss up.
- FF II, The Emperor: Destroyed at least one town, and was either directly or indirectly responsable for several deaths in the game. While there might be more I don't know of, as far as I know, he's tied with you as a villain, Sephy-boy.
- FF III, ?: I have no clue as to who this guy is as I never played FF III, nor will I until the DS version comes out. Can't really find a decent translated ROM of it anyway.
- FF IV, Zeromus: Ah yes... the start of the FF Golden Age is started off with a villain who remains in the shadows up until the end, and yet he still was the direct or indirect cause of much pain and suffering. He controlled his own set of Elemental Fiends who took over a kingdom and started to put his plans into motion. He also controlled not one, but two characters from the game, one of whom was directly responsable for the destruction of two kingdoms and the deaths of many innocents. The fact that he did it all FROM A MOON as well helps. Character development, you're better Sephy, but he still beats you out as a villain.
- FF V, Exe-death: While I haven't played enough of the game to know what all evils he has done, I have played enough to know that he's still a better villain. He had lots of power. Even while sealed away, Exe-death still had influence on the world and such. Heck, not long after he was freed from his prison and returned to his home world, he went and merged the two worlds into one big one. As for kill count, he may not have made a lot of kills, but he did make quite a few key ones to help push the heroes onward, but then, what FF Villain hasn't?
- FF VI, Kefka: And now the last of the villains before you... and arguablly one of the best. Kefka was insane... and not the calm, cool insane you were Sephy, but the ravenous lunatic, Joker kind of insane. He didn't care who got in the way as long as he got what he wanted. He killed off an entire kingdom, leaving but one Knight left, he all but slaughtered and entire race of magical beings JUST so he could have their powers. Hell, he even turned against his own comrades and Emperor in his lust for power. And to top it all off, he goes and practially destroys the world! Oh, and he doesn't stop there. Oh no... those that survived continued to feel his pain and power as he unleashed his judgement on the world, as he let the demons and dragons of the past loose on the world. Oh, and one last thing here. He was the ORIGINAL One Winged Angel.
Yeah... as you can tell, you are far from needing or even deserving of the fans you have, of being put into other games just becasue the one you were in sold so fucking well... You're nothing more than a typcial run of the mill villain. But then, it could have been worse. You could have been emo.
Yeah... I think that's enough of that, at least for today. So I shall just leave you all with a bit of amusement.
I am dying of CRT radiation.
I got 11/16 on the 8-Bit Gamer test.
