Hi everyone! New face here. Or, well, tehcnically I've been a member for quite a while, but I never went anywhere with it. Didn't even lurk.

BUT! I'm here now because I recently fell in love all over again with Vocaloid as I was reorganizing my iTunes a while back. And now I'd like some friends ;_; to talk about Vocaloid stuff.

So uhm, I guess I need ( Read more... )

Hello! Is it okay if i ask you to please put the photos under a lj-cut?

Thanks!

I can't find a list of the vocaloid albums, but the c81 tag on nicovideo would have crossfades to the albums. You'll just have to search through all the touhou ones.

Cut fixed! I'm sorry for the inconvenience. I realized I'd forgotten about the cut approximately four point seven seconds after sending the post away to be approved by the mods.

Sweet, thanks for the tip! There are a few Touhou releases I'm interested in as well, so it shouldn't be too bad.

Hm, I only really get albums when kind folks post 'em here! Well, once I googled an album and found a download link for it on 4shared. As for organizing my music, I keep it in folders organized on my computer (JP dubs, Eng dubs, songs I've recently discovered, songs from the weekly rankings, choruses, etc). I'm pretty lazy about transferring music over to my iPod, but when I do, I just sort the songs into my own albums/mixes.

...Actually, my main interaction with Vocaloid/the fandom right now is just collecting pretty fanart from tumblr. OTL Well, and following vgperson + some English fandubbers on youtube.

I've noticed there are very few uploads in this community despite its age. What's the general consensus to up/downloading albums here? Is the community against free downloads, or do people just not see the point of mirroring something already available on mikuDB?

Pretty fanart~ I usually go to pixiv for that, but then I get stuck there for hours and hours, only opening more and more tabs... It's dangerous, that place is.

Y-Yay~!

All of my Vocaloid music used to just be audio-rips from YouTube, all chucked in a big Vocaloid folder. I was happy with that for a long while until I got fed up with my iTunes as a whole; it was way too messy. You should've seen the mess it was. The mess of messes, that.

So now I only download whole albums. It's a great way to find out if you like a producer as a whole, or if it was just that one hit song that tickled your fancy. But yeah, I've got so much to listen to now, and barely the time... orz

I don't have much, probably around 400 songs or so, XP
I have my own playlists to organize it... Usually by genres and all that.

Hahaha~ I love how you're so casual about ~400 songs not being very much, while mizu_kanon above seems to think their ~50 is quie the number. Not judging anyone, just found it amusing how differently people view these things.

I haven't had enough to need playlists yet, really. I'm still only around ~200 songs. But as of right now now ~45 of those are three Len albums I haven't even touched yet. I guess I'll have to listen through them one by one instead of just shuffling everything, or I'll never rememeber who made what and for which album. And C81 is coming up too... Though I dunno what the usual album turnout is for Vocaloid on an average winter Comiket.

LOL I've been a 1 year Voca-fan, so... I guess I have a lot... Though I think, for a year, I think should have more than 400... :(

The only album I've ever bought is Shigotoshite-P's FILL e TUA XP I spend my money more on Vocaloid artbooks than albums, sometimes they're a bit hard to get, but there are lots of Voca-artbooks in a bookstore near me.... XP

I already have my eyes on 96Neko and Len's album Asymmetry on January 8th. :3

It depends on how into it one is, I guess. I've been a "fan" for years but all I ever did was listen to the same ~70 hits ripped from YT. Only in the past few weeks have I started downloading albums, and I'm soon at 200 songs. I'm catching up!

I need to memorize more producers... Though I guess I can cut myself some slack since I haven't been serious for very long yet. I may or may not know who ShigotoshiteP is, but I can't read kanji very well yet. I just know there's one producer in my iTunes called [kanji][kanji]してP. And I sure hope I didn't mess up the kana there, I'm on an old laptop which displays every non-roman letter as a square.

Square square square.

Haha. I've never had that problem, as most of my friends have always had the same interests as me. No-one really raised an eyebrow over Vocaloid when all of us were planning to attend the same convention together; we realized we were all cut from the same cloth anyway.

You actually buy albums~? O: Well colour me impressed, really. All of my money goes to figurines. And that's becoming more and more of a bitch with the yen increasing in worth... ;_; I do not want to calculate the sums I've paid to have bits of plastic shipped from Japan.

Friend go go go~

Aren't they horrendously overpriced at conventions? But I guess there's not much of a difference after the shipping and taxes I have to pay to get my stuff. I've got a Lelouch figure heading my way right now, and the shipping was highway robbery on that one... I need to lay off the EMS.

I'd write some more, but grocery shopping calls!
