Mammo-WHAM!!!
Today, I got a bilateral baseline mammogram done. In layman's terms, both boobs got x-rayed to look for shit. LOL Well, this actually wasn't my first mammogram...I had one done about 10 years ago on my left breast only as a diagnostic measure. Nothing was found then, and I'm hoping nothing is found now. This can only mean one thing...I'M FUCKING OLD!!!!!!! Shit! When did that happen? LOL
I call it a Mammo-WHAM because that's basically what happens to your boobs in the process! My boobs got SMOOSHED in between a piece of Plexiglas and the x-ray table. Then, after my boobs got smooshed, the technologist turned a knob to compress the boobs even more, making them both look like huge, fluffy, brown, round, pieces of flatbread!
But wait, it gets better! The technologist then tilted/angled the mammogram machine to the side, and I had to reach over and hold on to a part of the machine to allow my boobs to fit between the Plexiglas and x-ray machine sideways. Oy vey!!! It didn't hurt much, but it was more like getting a Pap smear...invasive, rather uncomfortable, but ya gotta do it and eventually, it'll be over before you can say Maidenform, Cacique or whatever brand bra you like best. LOL
I've been officially Mammo-Whammed and I'm proud of myself. :)
