I think that you should go to UConn if you're set on a particular path in terms of your academic interests. (and if you get in with funding of course) because if that's what you really want to do, and you can't really ever take what people say about things as absolute.
On the other hand, cornell is AWESOME, and funding is AWESOME and you know what, if it doesn't fit exactly, just think, it might take you somewhere slightly different and also new and interesting. don't be afraid to let the places you go affect you. i mean, you went to wheaton thinking more along the french/ theatre line, and you ended up in anthropology. and that's awesome. just go with the flow babe, whatever you feel like is best. In my experience, advisors give you advice so you can think about it more, but shouldn't be listened to in the absolute, because the only person who really knows where you belong is you. I mean, is there some program out there that is perfect for you? because if there isn't, then you shouldn't be stressing over choosing something that isn't perfect.
