So, um, yeah, new Franz. How about that. I could kiss Mr Kapranos for writing a song about loving New Yorkers and leaving New York, but it seems rather inappropriate, to say the least. I'm not fully coherent about the album, despite having listened to it (well, and the War Child album, and a bit of Ben Folds) all weekend long. And to think that ( Read more... )

Well, but SFW boobie pics are STILL lovely! *pets* I'm especially fond of the close-up flask one. Mmmmmhmhmmm.

Now, a question! I have a couple friends going to the Philly show (everybody's going to that one, isn't it? O_o), and they were asking me stuff about how to meet the guys later. I was like, YEAH EXCELLENT QUESTION BECAUSE I'VE NEVER MET THEM!, and then I thought I'd ask you. As far as I know they're not throwing afterparties or anything, so it's really a matter of stalking waiting for them or something? Do please illuminate me with your FF gig knowledge so I can tell them what to do/expect. I'm also thinking about introducing you guys, but then I really don't want to force soacial situations or anything between you, you know what I mean? Sometimes people can be weird (not that they are), but it would be rilly awesome if all the LJ FF contingent going to the Philly show could hang out or something.

Wwo, I'm rambling. I'll shut up now, but you get the gist of what I was asking. Why, yes, I need coffee.

I thought you'd like that one. ;)

Meeting the guys... I've actually only met them at organized things -- signings, afterparties, visits before shows -- so I don't know first-hand about waiting afterward. I'm not sure if they'll come out to greet the crowd like they did last time, partially because that was being filmed for the DVD and partially because seated shows don't have the same line of people waiting to get in.

I'm sure there will still be afterparties, I just don't know if they'll be advertised (or ticketed, like the one last September). Unfortunately I lack the connections to just know this stuff right off the bat.

I don't know how free I'll be for hanging out, since I'll be travelling with other people, but I can certainly keep an eye out for people! Especially as it seems that a lot of the LJ Franzies have seats near each other.

There's a calming trick for interviews you may have heard of - treat it as a dress rehearsal/practice session. Focusing on the result you want rather than on the process helps too. Plus, tomato red blouse? They'll want you for your fashion sense alone! Also, wear your most gorgeous, confidence-inspiring undies, so you feel fabulous.

Seems to me that job description is quite a lot to expect from someone with only a high school degree and two years' experience. Looks like a fishing expedition for more than one employee, with fingers crossed that they'll find someone totally overqualified for the pay they are offering.

Bloc Party party - I am so uncool - what's the deal with the lovely turquoise lips and tongues? A special drinkie?

Well that's the way it works, isn't it? I'm still a little miffed as to why I'd want to do IT when NYU pays roughly the same salary for administrative work. I guess IT would be interesting, at least.

oh - well the pictures are from Wednesday night, not from Bloc Party. Adri bought blue raspberry ringpops - nothing fancy. ;)

Hey, in case you're interested, Bono tickets available at Skirball for $12 with NYU I.D., two per person, starting at 12:30 p.m. today (9/12). Sorry for the late notice, just got the news from my roommate who came back literally now from a meeting. I really don't know any more details beyond that, as this isn't supposed to be advertised at all.

Oh and I'll find out if this is a false alarm. If it is, I'll let you know asap.

Well, he's not "performing" per se, just the opening act for Jeffrey Sachs.

But you're going up to TWH early, right? The possible date I heard is that it'll be around October 6, so it's pretty much out for both of us. I'm just going to get tickets in case it turns out to be on a different date. And I can't imagine Bono/Sachs tickets would be too hard to sell to others should I be unavailble to attend... ;)

Yeah, I daresay there'll be a market for them. ;)

I'm planning to leave on the 4th, so it's definitely out for me. And actually that reminds me, I keep forgetting to email you about rooming for TWH, if you still need a place to stay?
