update, xmas
Well, life is setting up to change again. I have a firm job offer in Memphis--love the money, dislike the job and hate the city. Off to Colorado Monday where I expect to like the job and the city but probably won't like the money, assuming there's an offer.
Still waiting on any word from Yale, or Kentucky where I consult. I plan to confront KY directly post-Colorado as I need to know whether my contract is even being renewed. People at the company just say things like 'you'll have to do that in January' when my contract is up Dec. 31! Interestingly, both Yale and Memphis have said they don't mind my keeping the consulting on the side. If that works out it changes all the calculations.
Trying to keep up with everything else. I took my online final today, and boxed up my and #1's textbooks to return to Amazon text rental. I have been decorating the tree, suppressing all the 'last time here' feelings best as I can. I am downsizing my xmas decorations...honestly counting the tree boxes I have fifteen. Boxes. Of trees, decorations,ornaments. I haven't found the lights although I have a vague recollection of ditching most of them last year when we got the pre-lit tree. If I'm to spend my time in apartment homes it doesn't seem realistic. Maybe 7 or 8 boxes??
Speaking of which, ornaments that is, not boxes, in the spirit of the holiday I would like to give you all something. If you'd like an ornament from my collection drop me a private message with your address. I have to drag them all off to Goodwill soon and it would ease the sting to save a few back for gifting. Comes with a xmas card as well!
Well, back to work. Then the gym and UPS, and back for leftover pizza, soppy Christmas movies and more decorating/sorting.
