a day off is a wonderful thing

Not wanting to repeat yesterday's Day of Nothing to Do, I took a personal day today. Many things were done, home things, cleaning and organizing and cooking things, little relaxing although tea and a book await this posting.

I missed the premier of Agent Carter and Galivant, darnit. Have them set up to record now. We had missed the second half of The Librarians pilot but I just bought it from Amazon Prime and we sailed on. I use that for missed episodes mainly. Probably should look into Hulu but lazy. Will check on Carter, etc. Am way behind on other shows, notably Once Upon a Time where 7 episodes await a block of time.

I have been reading quite a bit. And listening to audiobooks. Slowed down over the holidays especially the traveling part.

Just read:

The Serpent in the Crown--Elizabeth Peters (the last one, and I hadn't read it. Felt like a farewell)
Aunt Dimity, Snowbound--Nancy Atherton (very evocative scene-setting in this one. Anglophile to the bone.)
Maus, vol. 1--Art Spiegelman (For book club next week. Next up, Eleanor and Park)

Reading:

Archie Meets Nero Wolfe, a prequel--Robert Goldsborough (good so far although Archie's voice is iffy. Of course he's just a lad here, just past wet behind the ears)

Just listened:

A Civil Campaign and Winterfair Gifts--Lois McMaster Bujold (Love Vorkosigans, love them. Ship Miles/Ekaterin so hard.)

Listening:

The Sorceress-- MIchael Scott, The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series (This is the book where the story goes wobbly and the two protagonists switch stances with no explanation. Lots of repetition in each book, trying to make it less of a series. He's not as good at that as Bujold.)

I will start Diplomatic Immunity (Bujold) next, once it comes back to Overdrive. I've been going back and forth between the Flamel and Vorkosigan series on audio. Bit whip-lashy.

I think my computer may be virus-ridden. Problems mostly seen in Firefox, hence my switch to Chrome. Which has a Totoro theme which makes me happy. Will do back-ups and pray. I like this machine and dread computer-shopping. Two of our four cars are down today also. Bad car-ma.

babylon5_love  is starting a re-watch next week. Am going to try and play along. The usual episodes unfortunately, so not much to say beyond 'awesome sauce!' Still, it will be good to re-visit. I still want to do my personal re-watch of under-rated or interesting experimental episodes. Maybe after this.

I got the complete Charmed for Christmas *beams*. I live in fear it will fall off the streaming sites. I'm on my third (or is it fourth?) re-watch, although one was just The Best of Leo and Piper. Now to push for Warehouse 13. I took Haven off my list of series I need hard copies of, although I've liked the last few episodes. As long as Audrey stops wimping out on me, I'll keep watching. God. Evil Audrey was better than Wimpy Audrey.

No writing going on, although I have three stories lying around for
ladiesbingo . And another one mostly written. And a couple of good titles. No impetus. No time.
