Can't really take it in. I am taking #2 with me to the time-share condo in Florida, on the beach, with my parents and my sister and her kids off and on. My niece is 17 and will come up after school for a few hours then go home to sleep. My nephew may stay with his dad or not, those plans are fluid. #2 is being taken out of school which has the rest of my family gobsmacked. I'm a bit of a tyrant about school :) #1 will stay in school and R will stay home with him.
I am planning to take the whole family to Scotland in the fall. Including taking the boys out of school for a week. This ties in with a conference for work, which will save a little cash though not much. I hope it works out. I've also applied for a class in September in Buffalo. Not an exciting destination, but an exciting class. Limited to 18 participants and I'm not sure work will want to shell out for that and the October conference but maybe I'll just pay for it myself. What the heck.
I used to be adventurous, travel was one of my favorite things. Somehow I've become timorous. That needs to change.
It's more fun planning what books to take than anything else. I have the last two Miss Read novels and 100 Years of Solitude in paperback. On the Nook is Brandon Sanderson's Words of Radiance (the sequel to The Way of Kings)...and a few more. I was planning to buy that one, but didn't want to lug around 1000 page hardback! My sister planned a day at a water park. I've begged off. Waves and words, that's what I want.
