Many Firsts

Aug 27, 2012 22:12

First day of high school for #1, first day of 4th grade for #2. I stayed home to see them both off to the bus. R took pictures, of everything.

Progress is slow on the health front. The MRI showed pinching of the nerves as suspected, and there's not much to be done, according to Doctor #1. If I can keep a clear focus I'll get other opinions. Meanwhile the pain has subsided somewhat, which is both nice and likely to encourage procrastination.

I've fallen way behind on b5_love entries due to Stuff. I have gotten pretty far along on the Stephen/Marcus thing. Not very fluffy but it pings more than the last story I finished. Do other writers hear the ping? It's like the ring of lead crystal as opposed to the dull plunk of cheap plastic. More ping in this one anyway. I don't do slash normally; not male/male anyway. This is only my second. I'm having some difficulty trying to imagine a man's response to another man. It's kinda interesting though.

Work is slow and not going well. I have a problem to figure out and it's going to take some work. All on spec unfortunately.

My mom is having chest pains.

R has a nagging persistent cough and is so tired. Everything hits him harder these days.

Things I am enjoying:

Warehouse 13 (awesome)
Perception (intriguing)

Things I enjoyed:

the Eureka final episode (good)
the Closer final episode (better, except for the last 10 minutes of schmaltz)
the Longmire season ender (whoa)

Things I am not enjoying:

Leverage (It's making me uneasy for some reason. I watch for Elliot.)

The Renn Faire was pretty rainy. Like 'the flood-gates open' rainy. #1 got soaked working. Twice. We holed up in the Sly Fox Pub and imbibed while #2 played Flow on my phone. It was dark and stuffy and loud. Very authentic!! R and I have season passes this year, so no worries. We'll be back.
