Babylon Five
What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Searching for old TV series on Netflix that I could watch with my then 7-year old son. I had watched an episode of B5 here and there when it was originally aired but it never caught on with me. But I fell head-over-flipping-heels this time, causing immense delight to my son as he watched me hover over the mailbox waiting for the next DVD. B5 was my re-entry to fandom, my introduction to online fandom, my introduction to LJ. And it started me writing fanfiction.
Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I don't think I'll ever leave, although I gafiate from time to time. My writing muse seems to be intrinsically linked to B5.
Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
Confessions and Lamentations, Severed Dreams, War Without End I and II, Sleeping in Light

Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
Yes. Absolutely. Best Show Ever. Watch. Don't wait in the car.
Sanctuary
What got you into this fandom in the first place?
gabolange got me started with her enthusiastic nattering about something called Sanctuary which was a webisode. Whatever that was. I didn't start watching until the end of the first season. Then my son and I mainlined S1 on streaming Netflix and impatiently waited for S2. We've watched as aired since then. The last season is still on the DVR in toto for a re-watch to be determined later.
Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I really don't know. Nikola Tesla is now a family favorite...we all had our pictures taken with the Tesla statue in Niagra state park. If that isn't a fan-family, I don't know what is. So I'll always have a soft spot and linked memories. I haven't bought the DVDs but they are on my list of 'wants'. I'll probably leave if there are no more episodes made, though I'll visit back for sure.
Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
Any episode with any of The Five in addition to Magnus. I adore Magnus, but The Five. Just wow.
Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
I lurk a lot. I've written a whacking three stories so far.
Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
Yes. I can't believe how unappreciated it is, it's different and stylish and intelligent, even though it falls short a lot of the time. I heard some story on NPR about Tesla and I kept waiting for them to mention Sanctuary...they never did. Research, people, research! It fits so nicely with my attraction to steampunk motifs and my interest in history and Victorian fiction.
I'd like more episodes although they ended it well this past season. I could live with that ending.
X-Files
What got you into this fandom in the first place?
Oh lord, we are going back a bit here. I watched it from the beginning, and I was in Boston...so I must have just started watching? I think I was watching it before I got into Forever Knight fandom there. Can't quite remember. I plead age. :) I was quite intense about it for a while. I had the first set of VHS tapes, one of the big picture books about the show, and the soundtrack. I remember hovering over a signed photo of Mulder at a convention but it was outside my price range at the time. My initial enthusiasm carried over into the first year of Millenium, and I caught the movies though I wasn't terribly impressed.. Still, <3 Scully <3 Mulder <3 Skinner
Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
I moved on before the series ended; made it thru S4 or S5 I think. I'm trying to re-watch but am stuck in S3 at the moment.
Favorite episodes/books/movies, etc?
Ice, Dod Kalm, Anasazi, Clyde Bruckman, Piper Maru and Apocrophya. Aubrey still scares the heck out of me, and I've never forgotten Eve. Or Tooms. Or 2Shy (I had moved to Cleveland by then...). Or the one with the thing in the Port-o-John. God, I wouldn't use one of those for ages. I took great joy in showing that episode to my son and then reminding him about it at the Renn Faire. The simple pleasures of parenting.
Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
Not really. I've read some stories and lurked around the comms, especially when the last movie came out.
Do you think more people should get into this fandom?
Oh sure. People like to be scared, and this is spooky stuff. Not too bloody/graphic like most shows today. Lots of good sexy fic too.
