Today's the day! We have 5 preteen boys descending on us at 1 o'clock. They will be whisked off to see the Percy Jackson movie (for the second time for most of them). Then back here for pizza, cake, and mayhem! Here are some pix of the planned festivities. The icon shows the invite illo. We did business cards with the logo on one side, and the pertinent information on the back. These went over very well. I think they are actually less likely to get lost!
I did a large chocolate cake, and vanilla cupcakes for those strange and unusual folk who don't 'do' chocolate. They do exist. I used edible silver glitter and glitter icing for the trident. Marbles, round and flattened for decorations. The rest of the pix are behind the cut.
cupcakes adorned with the Pearls of Persephone gift bags
contents of gift bags: I love the keyrings, but there isn't a good picture of them. The beads look just like Persephone's pearls. The necklace idea was stolen from

nolivingman . The symbols are those of the planets associated with the various gods (and one Titan).
Yes, I made arrows as a gift for young boys. Did you know dowel rods can be sharpened in an electric pencil sharpener? Now you do!
Vintage postcard of the places visited in the movie. Images from
WikiMedia, which is an awesome resource. There really is a Parthenon in Nashville. Who knew? And when they get back from the movie-- the battle is ON! The Nerf machine gun was a birthday present.
