I was listening to NPR news tonight and they were asking people whether or not they would eat meat from cloned animals. The FDA has now deemed cloned meat safe. I was surprised that the majority (almost all) of the people they asked said not a chance. Some of their reasons had to do with ethics, but most just thought it was "gross" or "grotesque." I wonder what makes a clone seem gross compared to the animal it was cloned from? After all, they are essentially the same animal. I almost laughed that the FDA had to deem cloned animal meat safe to eat. If the original animal was safe to eat, why would the clone not? Do people not know what a clone is? A cloned steak is still safer to eat than a bucket of KFC people!
