Me, I mean. My internet is now fixed, folks -- I'll be bothering you on a regular basis like the olden days. Yay!
I cried a little today -- I sent out $900.00 worth of checks to various bills that needed to be paid. $900.00!! But now I don't have to look at "pay your minimum balance of $50 now, bitch" mail every month for those. I'm relieved, actually. It was, like, four different bills/credit cards, now all paid off. And as soon as I get the bill for my Apple loan (on which I bought my iPod) I'll be paying that off, too. Things are looking up.
So I'm still working on my R/S Fuh-Q-Fest fic. Haven't written any smut yet, but for some reason, I can't seem to get into the mood to write such naughty things. COCKS! BALLS! SWEATY CHESTS! TONGUES! SLITS! COME! See, not working. Nothing's happening. Like I'm dead or something -- not cool. But it's a camping fic! I HAVE to write smut for a camping fic! DAMMIT!!
Still working on (or attempting to) all of those fics that I was working on (or trying to) before my haitus, too. You know, the fic for
spacedye_vest, the collabo fic with
louve_mae,
scribbulus_ink's birthday fic, the
fortune_fics fic . . . yes, even the smutty-but-with-no-dribbling-cocks JC/Britney fic for
jcjoeyfreak. Gack! Too much to do! FQF is still first, though, because . . . because. Because of the deadline and all. Yes. YEEESSSSSS.
So how did everyone love/hate Return of the King: EE? I liked it -- I didn't love it, because I didn't think it actually IMPROVED the movie. The extended/added scenes, I mean. The movie was already great -- I just think that with the first two movies, the Extended Editions made the movies BETTER, but with this one it just made it longer. Not worse, just not better. But I thoroughly enjoyed the Appendices like always. Cried a moment or three, especially at John Rhys-Davies' goodbye speech to the cast and crew. (Whew!)
I saw Closer, Flight of the Phoenix, Kinsey, Ocean's Twelve, National Treasure, Finding Neverland, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, and House of Flying Daggers since I saw Alexander and posted my review. Er, here are some short thoughts about each of the above movies, with NOOOO spoilers at all:

Ooh, if someone told me that I had to do any female on the planet, it would be Natalie Portman, hands down. She is SOOOOO sexy. She's sexiest in this movie, which even makes Clive Owen sexy to me. I REALLY liked this movie muchly.
Flight of the Phoenix -- 6 out of 10

Eh, I'll probably forget the ending in a few months -- it wasn't a memorable movie. Good adventure flick, though, with nice action and stuff. The dialogue sucked assholes, and not in a good way. If you're not expecting a big thinking movie but a nice action one, then this is pretty okay. Standard stuff and exactly what you'd expect.
Kinsey -- 9 out of 10

FRONTAL MALE NUDITY!! VAGINAS!! MAN/MAN KISSING!! What could get better than this? This was a thoroughly enjoyable movie -- I gave it a 9 instead of higher because I thought it was dull in moments and the ending was blech. But I thought that Liam Neeson was fantastic. FANTASTIC. And I love Laura Linney (I keep remembering her part in Life of David Gale, which I loved.) Go see this if you can -- it really is worth the search for it (it was playing in literally ONE theater in Atlanta!)
Ocean's Twelve -- 6 out of 10

Good, but not as good as the first. Which I loved. It was enjoyable (and I thought the plot had some nice little twists as far as HOW things were done) but not overly so. I wouldn't buy it when it comes out on video like I did the first movie, but I'd definitely watch it again. Catherine Zeta-Jones is yummy. (Gosh, I sound not-so-straight, don't I?)
National Treasure -- 3 out of 10

I mean, if you like mindless movies, then it's okay. Pretty girl from Troy is in this. But I came out of the movie liking Nic Cage as much as I liked him going in, which is not at all. In fact, I probably like him less after this dribble. Skip the theater and get it if you have a free rental coupon or if someone else is paying for it. Otherwise, don't waste your money.
Finding Neverland -- 9 out of 10

I JUST saw this about a week ago, even though I've been wanting to see it for ages. Man, it was worth the wait -- I adored it. I walked out of there like, 'man, the time flew by' even though the movie is sort of long, I think. It just didn't FEEL long. I didn't bawl my eyes out like I had expected to, either, but the memory of Johnny Depp's performance alone makes me tear up even now, with how wonderful it is. He SOOOO deserves an Oscar this time around -- this is fantastic work. Kate Winslet is gorgeous and lovely and so freaking awesome, too. Go see this if you haven't, and don't take your boyfriend/lover (but take some tissues.)
House of Flying Daggers -- 4 out of 10

I only gave this a 4 out of 10 because it was very, very pretty. Beautiful, in fact. A beautiful movie, but the dialogue was atrocious and the plot was not that great and the ending was just ridiculous. When you spend thirty minutes of the movie on one's death scene where they keep coming back to life (er, little bit spoilery, but I not saying who or when), then it gets a little goofy instead of sad like it's supposed to be. Zhang Ziyi is gorgeous and wonderful as I always think she is, and she was as good as I expected her to be, but the script was horrible and I was thoroughly disappointed, especially after the anticipation of it after seeing Hero. What a waste of pretty scenery and fighting. SOME cool scenes, like a dance scene/game thing with drums, and SOME good plot twists, but not many. Hmm.
The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou -- 0 out of 10
Recommended? NOOOOO!!!!
Considering I did not finish the movie, I suppose this isn't a fair judgement. But GOD, I was halfway through the movie and it was so dull and so horrible that I walked out. That was it for me. I will never finish it -- I have no desire to learn the ending, and I never want to see any part of it ever every again. I've never been a fan of Bill Murray (especially after that POS Lost in Translation -- ack, the crap!) but this made me never, ever want to even be curious about a movie with him in it ever again. He is not funny to me. At. All. Yuck.
And those are my two and a quarter cents on all of those movies. Had a lovely time watching, for the most part. I'm dying to see the one with Topher Grace now. TOPHER!! I LOVE HIM!!
Anyway, time for bed, after doing some searching for
thistlerose's kilt smut. Gotta work tommorow, after all. Daily grind and all that. Wah. Night! *mwah*
