Title: A Unexpected Turning (outtake)
Author: vivhasarifle
Rating: PG-13
Genre and/or Pairing: Gabriel/Sam.
Characters: Gabriel, Sam.
Spoilers: None
Warnings: MPREG. This is my first time writing both creature!fic and mpreg as per requests from the lovely Gedry and 888mph, submissive!Dean. I guess technically this fic contains hermaphrodites, as there are male characters with ‘extra’ parts. Swearing. Mention of character death. Also, there is a romantic relationship between Sam and Gabriel, and Sam’s character in this is only sixteen, so legal in some states and countries but not in others; if you are in one of the others please be aware that this will contain a relationship between an underage character and an adult. Porn. If any of this bothers you, feel free not to read. Reference to a character losing a child. Unbeta’d.
Word Count: 780
Summary: What happens when Gabriel tries to woo Sam, and after the party.
Notes: Thanks to my fantastic beta highermagic, whose fic ‘Instinct’ leant great inspiration to this, and to Gedry and 888mph for the prompts and support! Throughout this fic I refer to the two different packs as ‘lynx’ and ‘jaguars’ respectively, but just to be clear they are in fact, shifters. For the purposes of this fic it is easier to have Sam be two years younger than Dean, as opposed to four, like on the show. I hope this isn’t too distracting.
Disclaimer: Not mine, just playing.
When Sam woke up that morning he was greeted with a delicious smell; Gabriel was holding a platter and looking at him nervously.
“I caught you some pheasants,” Gabriel held out the dish, and Sam saw that as well as pheasants there were raspberries and strawberries.
“Gabriel…this looks amazing.” Sam reached out and picked up a strawberry, bringing the succulent fruit to his lips. He took a bite, relishing the sweet taste and absent mindedly licking at a stray stream of juice that dribbled down his chin.
When he looked up Gabriel was staring, and Sam could smell the pheromones coming off the jaguar. He took the plate out of Gabriel’s hands and picked up a raspberry, holding the fruit against Gabriel’s lips.
“Try this,” he said quietly, shy eyes meeting Gabriel’s. Gabriel paused for moment before taking the berry in his mouth, his tongue licking at Sam’s fingers as he did so. Sam drew in a deep breath.
“Gabriel…I want you, you know that. I want you to be my mate. I think…I think I’m in love with you.”
Gabriel sighed and took Sam’s face in his hands. “Oh Sammy,” he said, “I know you feel that way now, I was young once and -.”
“I’m not that young Gabriel, shit! I’m not some kid, okay?”
Gabriel frowned. “I know, Sammy, I know that. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel like I was talking down to you…it’s just, you’re sixteen, Sam. I’m thirty. Don’t you find that…weird?”
Sam snorted. “I don’t care how old you are. You’re gorgeous, and sexy and smart and funny, and I liked you from the moment I set eyes on you.”
Gabriel blushed prettily. “You’re quite the catch yourself, Sammy boy. I just worry that you don’t know what you’re getting into with me. There’s…things about my past that you don’t know.”
Sam reached forward and tugged Gabriel onto his lap, mindful of his injured leg.
“I don’t care,” he whispered, looking into Gabriel’s eyes. “I don’t care about any of that. I know you’ve been hurt, and if you’re not ready to tell me then that’s fine, but just…just give me a chance, please? I promise I’ll be good to you.”
Gabriel wrapped his arms around Sam’s neck. “Alright, Sammy, but on one condition.”
Sam nodded enthusiastically. “Anything.”
Gabriel smirked. “Fuck me right now, big boy, and show me how much you love me.”
Sam obliged, all too happily.
After the party Sam pulled Gabriel into their tent, a frown gracing his features.
“Gabe? What did Ruby mean about you losing another child?”
Gabriel closed his eyes. “I don’t want to talk about it, Sam.”
Sam huffed. “Well, Dean seemed to know what she was talking about, and so did everyone else in the pack, but yeah, I get why you wouldn’t want to tell your mate, and the father of your child.”
Gabriel turned around, eyes blazing, and Sam gulped. “The rest of the pack knows because most of them were there, Sammy, and Dean knows because he’s my friend, and because he’s a breeder, and he needed to know.”
Sam grit his teeth. “Damn it what does him being a breeder have to do with anything? What is this little private club you guys have going on? If I didn’t know any better I’d say you wanted to fuck him, not me!”
Gabriel’s hand reached out and before Sam knew what was happening he was slapped sharply on the face.
“How dare you, Sam? You think I would let you breed me if I didn’t want you?” Gabriel’s eyes were shining. “Do you think I would let you do it if I didn’t love you? God damn it, I wish I didn’t but I do. I talked to Dean about losing my child because he was terrified about the thought of having a kid, and I needed him to know I had gone through it before, so don’t -.”
“Gabriel,” Sam stepped forward and tentatively took his mate’s hand. “I’m sorry. I was selfish and disrespectful. This…having a mate, it’s a new thing for me, okay? I just felt sort of hurt that you didn’t trust me.”
Gabriel sighed and pulled Sam down into a kiss. “I’m sorry too,” he whispered, as he pulled away. “You deserve to know what happened.”
And so Gabriel pulled Sam down onto the furs of their tent and began to tell him about Balthazar and Jesse, and when the older man broke down in tears, Sam rocked him gently in his arms until he fell asleep, trying desperately to silence his own fears, which were now swarming his brain after Gabriel’s confession.
