Snow Emergency: Parking

Dec 10, 2008 11:46

Ok. I was under the assumption that I had to move our 2 cars last night for the snow emergency, as our street's parking is on the odd side. So, it took me a long time to find spots and navigate snowy side roads, but i managed to get out of the spots on my street and into ones elsewhere, despite getting stuck and being pushed ( Read more... )

a typical male would never do this: i called lee and i'm making him come home from work especially for the reason of i just am too sore from yesterday to do this shit.

suffer, suffrage.

two different words.

if a "typical male" was exhausted after having shoved two cars i would say that he might call his lady and be like "baby, can you help me out? i'm totally exhausted from shoveling yesterday. could you do it for me?"
but what do i know, i'm just being whiny because i have a vagina.

well, i'm sure lee wants to be able to use his car and he has the keys to one of them and i'm also sure he doesn't want to get a ticket.

also, he has only a few hours of work left and works at CapTel, where I worked for 2 years, which has a ton of employees handling phone calls. they have a leave early board which lots of people go home early though all day long. if they don't need that many people to work that day the company is happy to let you leave so they don't have to pay you.

basically, we are losing $25, and lee is just doing earlier what he'd help me with tonight, and we can relax afterwards.

oh, i didn;t know he worked at cap-tel... who hasn't?
98.9% of my friends have, aside from me.

still, i just thought it interesting to point out that despite any soreness or frustation, the typical male would not have made the call that the typical female might have.

i'm not sure where to start with that one. i think gender isn't so cut and dry. i know you say "typical" not "every," but I still HATE dividing things into male and female.
All I know is going back out there that high puddle of water was freezing around our cars and would get worse the later it got.

we have been trying and trying to get the cars out and not even manly not-sore Lee can do it so far. Not that I haven't tried.

i just found this comment annoying. there are other details about our lives i could mention, like things we have to get done tonight, my migraine today or how lee was the one who called me, but the point is you don't really know much about us. i'd like to be your friend, and enjoy Trivia, but as of this point you don't know enough to judge how "girly" I am.

yeah, i said typical for a reason. and not judging you, instead me: i refused any help from SWMBO these past few snow days, and last night i really paid for it...

edit: to be clear: yes, it should be equal, but i rarely meet the male who would ask the female to drop things and come help, so i express some surprise.
