Ok. I was under the assumption that I had to move our 2 cars last night for the snow emergency, as our street's parking is on the odd side. So, it took me a long time to find spots and navigate snowy side roads, but i managed to get out of the spots on my street and into ones elsewhere, despite getting stuck and being pushed.
Then, of course, we are plowed in in the new spots and lee has to bus it this morning.
I am sore from all the shoveling yesterday, but waiting to go shovel out our 2 cars.
Now, out street is a short, one block long one-way. I was really pissed to see that not everyone even moved their cars last night, but also that none of the snow was removed on the parking section of our street. so i call the city and find out that we DON'T have to move our cars...ever. because we only have parking on the one side, we don't have to alternate.
this presents some issues. apparently, the woman knew all about our street, and said they have probelms every year with it. she said no one ever moves their cars so they can't clean the street properly and the street eventually gets narrower and narrower and at some point they do a tow-posting to get people to move.
she told me i should organize the people living on our street to move their cars or at least share driveways. this seems really complicated to me. i'm sure in weather like laast night people wont want to do what they don't have to. the best bet for me is to try and keep the street clean. ha ha: like i can shovel all that snow. grrrrrrr.
Update: 12:25PM our street got plowed! Yay! I'm so glad I called.
Update: 1:37PM ugh. i just went and tried to move the cars (on jenifer) and some asshole is pouring water all over the street from this house that's under construction so now my boots are soaking wet and my feet are all fucked up and i'm afraid if i don't move the cars the tires will freeze into the puddles.
i called lee and i'm making him come home from work. i just am too sore from yesterday to do this shit.
