The dismal state of Betty Buick

Betty Buick is so frustrating sometimes and makes me feel incapable of doing anything right!

For example:

Problem #1:  Glove compartment door.
Betty's door contraption broke several months ago, it's not like I can just go to a Buick dealership and be like "Hey yeah, fix my car".  No it's a '92, shes old.   Since then I've tried to find a way to get it to stay shut.  Velcro, not strong enough.  Crazy glue & Velcro, still not strong enough.  Against the assumed failings of several guys at Home Depot (btw, H.D. got hotttttties!) ridiculously strong magnets will not work.  So what am I left with?
I'm left with glue still stuck that looks like a lot of boogers, and some magnets that are forever stuck to sides of my glove compartment.

Solution?  I don't know.

Problem #2:  Betty Buick's headliner
So due to many years of driving real fast with the windows down and Betty being in the sun, her car headliner has deteriorated.  First I stapled it and it resembled my scar, then as that started to fail Max and I tore that shit out, bought fabric and strong adhesive (could have been stronger I guess) and tried to make that happen.  The heat defeated that solution.  Then Caroline just whacked it a bunch of times with her staplegun, which has worked for the most part for a suprisingly long time.  Now, that is starting to fail.

Solution?  I don't know.  I'm not going to spend $200 getting that shit done professionally.  Maybe?  Take out that whole headliner the right way, then find SUPER DUPER CRAZY fabric adhesive then spread a spare fabric sheet over it then reinstall headliner.

Problem #3:  Her seats
Thanks to sandy butts and ocean air and age, Betty's fine leather started ripping open.  So I bought new seat covers.  Only problem was... they didn't fit exactly right.  So I decided to return them only... I lost the receipt.  So then I used them anyway and threw away the box several weeks later.  A week after that, I found the receipt.

Solution?

I give up for now.  Back to the solution board tomorrow.  I hate you today Betty.
But most days I love you, because you are gold, you run well, your AC works, you take care of me, and because you are all I have.
