Summer isn't TOO Far Away...Or is it?

So, summer is looking up. There a few things I want to do, and I think I'll be able to do them, so that's great. I am going to take a two-month vacation and travel the seven seas. Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but at least travel two of the seven seas. So, unless I change my plans (which is always possible), and god-willing, as they say, I will spend one month in Paris where I will rent an apartment. That will be great. I'm going to do some research, go to all the museums, possibly travel by train to near-by places, meet people, visit friends, and basically have the time of my life. Then I will travel to Havana for another month, this time on the beach and in the sun. It will be carnival there, and lots of festivities will be going on. I will be doing some major research there, too. I'm going to be interviewing people and hopefully doing a project for this cultural center there where I have great connections. I will also rent an apartment there for the month, hopefully by the malecón where I know well and love so much- close to the good restaurants and bars, with easy access to other parts of the city. I'm saving big time for this great summer. It's really a great feeling when you can save for something you really want and then get it all by yourself. I'm very much looking forward to it. I will have a great chance to practice my French and Spanish, which is always good for me. I also have plans to travel to the V.I., Brazil and some country in Africa in the next year, so after this summer I'll be saving up for those. I realized that one can really do a lot of traveling without needing a lot of money, especially if you choose to travel to third-world countries where the rate of exchange often works in the favor of one carrying dollars. As soon as I start grad. school this much traveling will most likely slow 'cause I just won't be able to do it as much or afford as much, but I will be applying for overseas research grants, so that might get me to a few interesting places. I'm not going to think that far ahead right now though. I'll cross that bridge at the appropriate time. Yeah, travel is definitely my thing. I hope to make it to many different parts of the world in my lifetime. All right, I'm going to do some work and studying. Bye for now...
