So, Amber showed signs of bloat tonight. For those who don't know what that is, it's when a dog get lots of air trapped in their stomach. If too much air gets trapped, the stomach can flip on itself and then the dog can die, within an hour. This affects dogs with deep chests (such as St. Bernards, setters, sight hounds and so on.) It is truly an emergency.
Amber has bloated once before, 3-4 years ago. She manged, thank G-d, to eventually burp. I know it sound weird, but at the time that was the best sound in the world because it meant my beloved dog would live through the night (she did it at the animal ER waiting room.)
Tonight she was acting the same, but she's fine now. She's still a bit "off" acting like her tummy hurts a bit, but she's not gagging and the like anymore! Yea!
Off to bed, have to wake up WAY to early tomorrow! (6:15!!!)
