Yes, Lashley, we have snow. Lots of it. Since you failed to call me back *bothers* I thought I'd let you know here!!!
Anyways. It's snowed about 6 inches (15cm). Now, we have a 130 (40 meters) foot long driveway. Said driveway is 10 feet (3 meters) wide. So that's 1,300 square feet (120 square meters.) Now, when I first shoveled it, it was around 3-4 inches (7.5-10cm) deep. So, lets do algebra shall we?
130 ft (40 M)
x 10 ft (3 M)
1,300^2 ft (120^2 M)
Now, that was fun, we now know I shoveled a LOT (I LOVE my MP3 player!!!)
So, how much was it, volume wise?
3 inches is 1/4 of a foot, which is easy: 25% or multiply by .25
1,300^2 feet
x 0.25
325^3 feet of snow (that's 9.2^3 meters)
Now, how much does a cubic foot weigh? I have no clue... but going with, let's say 5 punds (I KNOW it's more then that) makes it this:
325^3 feet of snow
x 5 pounds per 1^2 foot of snow
1625 pounds (737 KG) of snow moved
That's more then a ton and a half!
