So I look at these two products...
..and I think to myself...couldn't those two be blended?
The first image is the Nyko Wii Party Station. It holds 4 Wiimotes, 4 drinks(in cooling containers to keep them frosty), snacks, and 2 nunchuks(the closed drawer in the front).
The second image is the Nyko Wii Charging Stand. It comes with 2 Wii battery packs that replace the battery cover and batteries and a charging stand to put them in to power them up.
Here's my thoughts on this...
You buy 2 charging stands and the party station. Hopefully you have 4 Wiimotes already, if not...buy 2 more, because I don't think adding in another one afterwards will be easy. You then disassemble all 3 units and get good at cutting the needed slits for the charging stands 3 contacts. You should have plenty of spare plastic in the 2 charging stands' cases to practice this technique.
Once you are confident you can cut in the contacts, get good at gluing the plastic back together, because you'll need to reattach the contacts to their new home. Next, cut in all the slits for the contacts and switches at the base of the unit and glue them in. Keep all three power cords separate, though, unless you are better than me with electrical wiring and can put them all together safely at this point. I have other plans for that...
Next, open up the power cord hole so it can fit 3 cords instead of 1 and run all 3 cords through this opening. Seal them up inside a tube for aesthetics, and then cut off the plugs for all of them. You can go out and buy those 3-in-1 electrical outlet thingies for a few bucks for the next piece. You'll be cutting this open, taking out the guts, and soldering the electrical contacts onto each of the 3 inputs that used to be there. Then, you can reuse one of the plugs that you cut off earlier, solder that onto the other piece of the 3-in-1 unit so the unit is pretty much back as it was, just rearranged and soldered onto its contacts. Be careful with this, though, if the lines cross, you'll short it out. Plug it in, and you're good to go.
You'll now have a stand that holds 4 cool drinks, some chips, 2 nunchuks, and holds and charges 4 wiimotes.
I may try this once that party stand comes out. If I do it, I'll probably redo my plans and how I go about this, since I'm thinking of these instructions without any input from people with good electrical knowledge and without the physical units infront of me.
Rock on, children.
