Crafts, a fundraiser, and gardening

Woo, weekend!

I'm looking forward to the Orleans Festival d'Orleans on Sunday. I feel mostly ready. Printed off a new sign, new items are in the inventory list, and the rest of the kit is safely tucked in the boxes from last week. Now I just have to make sure I remember to bring a chair.

Next Thursday, check out Raw Sugar Cafe! There's a silent auction/open mic night raising money for Engineers Without Borders and a Ugandan medical student. In the meantime, check out the auction items and bid! One of them was donated by me. Here's the Facebook Invitation for all the details.

The rain this week was fabulous for the garden. The lettuce is going crazy. Unfortunately, I've lost my squash to some bug or another - they've all been chopped off at the stem. We'll see if they regrow any leaves, but I doubt it. Something else dug up some of the cucumbers, but I've replanted them and they seem healthy so far. I don't remember so many problems with bugs last year, not sure why I'm getting so many chewed plants. Squirrels? I suspect the cuke digger was either a squirrel or a skunk. There's no rabbits in our area so they wouldn't be the culprits. At any rate, it's annoying and they should stop.
