I'm Off

*sigh* Why else would I order food from a sub-par Chinese food restaurant with my roommate, even after I'd already had dinner, and then hang out with her, watching Scrubs, 30 rock, and The Office?

And I do like Scrubs but I'd never seen the other two before, and...well...I feel bad! She's broken up with her boyfriend and had a birthday and I ( Read more... )

There's a ton of value in sitting around laughing at a TV show! Heck, that's what my RL friends and I do most of the time. And I think it's a great way for us introvert-types to put ourselves out there- no pressure to be entertaining, just shared enjoyment of something.

Maybe you all can have a meal together. Either go out or make dinner at home. That's what I did with my housemates when I was in England, and it was a lot of fun.

Which is good, yes, I'm just...not so used to it. Hanging out with people at all. It's odd.

And we did, technically, eat together. You know, while watching. It's just it's been almost the whole semester and just now are we finally getting at all friendly? It's just...odd. For me.

Odd, but kind of fun, right? I mean, as long as they're good company.

Hm, yeah, that's a little peculiar. I thought you were talking about your new apartment roommates. Well, in that case, I suppose some friendliness now is better than none at all. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

She's good enough company, I guess, beyond us not having anything in common beyond a love of Scrubs. And insomnia.

Hanging out with people in college takes some getting used to. It's a weird space in which you can quickly OD on other people, but at the same time, it can be sort of moreish, you know?

Things do often lighten up a bit towards the end of the semester/year - I think when people realise the end is in sight, things weigh on them less.

Anyway, I hope you feel better today.

I just get so used to just kind of hanging out by myself, in my cave, and then...well, it's weird to be amongst others. Especially as an only child.

But meh, I'm home right now and I do feel a bit better. Somewhat.

YAY!! I'm glad! How was work?

I'm good, Nickel and I got bored and decided to use my livejournal as a means to be interviewed..

Work was...very tiring. I was asleep today until like 11 in the morning. Later, actually.

Oooh...any good questions?

A mutual lj friend of ours told me that you were feeling down, and so I should "stop by and give you some love," so here I am. *hugs* Hope things are looking up for you.

It makes me happy to glance at your lj and see that you are being made into a "Firefly" fan!! That's a great show to get into. I was just watching an episode of it with my roommate on Friday. :) Yay shows that rock!

Heh. Wow, I had no idea people were so concerned...thank you, though. And your icon made me smile, which I figure was the goal.

Yeah, I've jumped right on the Firefly bandwagon, I must say, like the sheep that I am. But it is a pretty awesome show.

No problem! I jump at the opportunity to make people happier. :) And yes, I used my cheeriest icon. It makes me smile every time I look at it!

I like to think I make up for my sheep-like conversion to shows like "Firefly" (and "Heroes", for that matter) by cultivating a range of more unusual interests. That way my weirdness outweighs my conformity. ;)
