*sighs happily* I'm still at work but this just what I needed. Worst. Day. Ever. And then right before I give into the urge to stab something there is Plaude!

I will comment more when I get home and am not on my phone. But I think this fic is like a relative of my next bingo fic. *laughs*. We're mind melding again because I have some similar stuff. I'm going to work on that now.

I'm sorry you're having the worst day ever and I'm glad this helped :D

Hee, mind melding. It's so creepy sometimes.

Thanks!

Home! It sucked. Every idiot in the company somehow ended up on my phone today. And they were never ending problems. My co-worker just called me at home about one that a store is still harassing me on! I had to hunt through three months worth of applications to find a credit application for this one guy, and when I read to the sales associate what we needed before we could approve it, the sales associate goes, "No. Your notes aren't up to date. I spoke to Ivan [my boss] in the bathroom at corporate and he approved it verbally for ten thousand dollars." Which would never in a million years happen. But I called my boss at home anyway, and my boss was like, "WTF? No." And the sales associate spent the next four hours arguing with me. Yeah, like I'm going to instantly give some guy 10 grand because a sales associate swears he had a heart-to-heart with my boss over a urinal three months ago. Then on top of all that, surprise!period at work. Argh. I can't wait for tomorrow where it's slow and I can go to work in my pyjamas ( ... )

Oh god, that is a hellish day. Is it wrong that the hear to heart in the urinal thing just makes me think of Larry Craig and his wide stance? Probably. Sorry. But I hope you do get a chance to catch up on Mad Men, I want someone to squee about it with.

I'm so glad! It was pretty fun picturing them being cute and awkward together after the angst and stiff-upper-lip fest that is WWII!Plaude.

Hah! Well, it may be mentioned later on. If there is a sequel. Which, you know, maybe.

Yeah, that makes sense. I actually wrote like a page worth of West Wing-esque Government Coverup of the Claire jump.

D'awww! Man, the image of Claude self-consciously plucking on a guitar, hoping not to and also wanting to be noticed is just.. kind of hot, actually (me, enjoy that scene in Stranger Than Fiction? nooo). I'd love to hear an acoustic version of "Ask," though now it would almost definitely make me think inappopriate and distracting things. Anywho, this isn't just lovely from a Plaude angle, but the several hundred words of backstory are so nice just showing Peter getting his life back together and on an even keel. Makes you feel happy for the poodle, y'know? Great job!

*laughs* I heard a couple of acoustic versions of Ask, just to get an idea of how they'd be played and how they'd sound, but none I liked enough to link. If you go through youtube, though, you can find them.

I remember you linked that scene in Stranger Than Fiction once, so I figured you'd enjoy that.

I know, the poor poodle needs some stability, and even Claude being around isn't going to take care of that all by itself.

Thanks!

This fic makes me realize I need to get back to work on the schmoop bingo prompts :P

Also, I love the idea of Peter and Claude slowly falling for each other through the power of music. So sweet :D

Taking one of my favorite movie moments and meshing and twisting it with one of my favorite ships is just kinda perfection.

This was lovely, thank you.

Ack. Another early post I missed. I scanned the Bingo card earlier and realized that a few of the fills didn't seem familiar. This was one of them.

But I'm so glad I went back to see what I had missed because this is lovely. You took the prompt in an unexpected direction and the back-story was well developed. Excellent work.
