Home! It sucked. Every idiot in the company somehow ended up on my phone today. And they were never ending problems. My co-worker just called me at home about one that a store is still harassing me on! I had to hunt through three months worth of applications to find a credit application for this one guy, and when I read to the sales associate what we needed before we could approve it, the sales associate goes, "No. Your notes aren't up to date. I spoke to Ivan [my boss] in the bathroom at corporate and he approved it verbally for ten thousand dollars." Which would never in a million years happen. But I called my boss at home anyway, and my boss was like, "WTF? No." And the sales associate spent the next four hours arguing with me. Yeah, like I'm going to instantly give some guy 10 grand because a sales associate swears he had a heart-to-heart with my boss over a urinal three months ago. Then on top of all that, surprise!period at work. Argh. I can't wait for tomorrow where it's slow and I can go to work in my pyjamas and get paid to catch up on Mad Men.

Anyway... I really loved this! I adored the little bits of backstory and the development of Peter and Claude's relationship. Claude is sweetly self-conscious about his guitar playing, like letting himself show Peter is just another crack in his walls.

I also really want to know what he told his co-workers. ;)

I think the mind-melding is partially because we discussed it though. Since it's unofficially in the Neal verse, I'm including aspects like Claude working for the government and the government covering up Claire's jump that we talking about in our epic thread. *laughs*

Oh god, that is a hellish day. Is it wrong that the hear to heart in the urinal thing just makes me think of Larry Craig and his wide stance? Probably. Sorry. But I hope you do get a chance to catch up on Mad Men, I want someone to squee about it with.

I'm so glad! It was pretty fun picturing them being cute and awkward together after the angst and stiff-upper-lip fest that is WWII!Plaude.

Hah! Well, it may be mentioned later on. If there is a sequel. Which, you know, maybe.

Yeah, that makes sense. I actually wrote like a page worth of West Wing-esque Government Coverup of the Claire jump.

*laughs* What's really funny about the Larry Craig thing is that we're convinced the 50 year old, male, head of Loss Prevention has a Big Gay Crush on my boss. I want to catch up too!

Angst WWII!Plaude is still awesome. Even if they're painful.

Go sequel! Karaoke? *laughs*

I was trying to think of how in depth to make the explanation, but I really don't think it would be that difficult for them to cover it up. They could say it was some David Blaine/Criss Angel wannabe stunt, and more people would probably believe that then supergirl.

Hah, your workplace is just a hotbed of real life shipping, is it? What was the last Mad Men episode you saw?

I do enjoy them in a way, but they do take a lot out of me.

Hee, I was thinking something that gets us closer to a completed line, but karaoke would be hilarious.

It really wouldn't; I mean they could have a little chat with Claire and Noah and have her relocated somewhere, or convince her to say that it was a stunt (by promising XYZ in return). Or convince the media outside of New York not to run the story. Because at least at first, I don't think the national or international press was there for one random carnival in NYC.

I... never finished season 1. *laughs*

I'm doing first date! Which will have three of five fics in row four completed. For column four... there is always kidfic-- bedtime. ;)

I think that if they convinced her to say it was a stunt-- and in my mind Peter helps convince her because he is not down with creating every crappy future he's been forced to see-- that people would mostly forget about it. The on scene reporters may be suspicious, but it could be contained.

*laughs* Which episode in season 1 did you stop at?

I kind of want to do "holding hands" although I don't know what I'd do with it. I want to wait to do kidfic-bedtime until I build up my courage a bit.

Yeah, she might get a bit of a hard time of it at school, and angst about it, as Claire does, but things would go back to normal. With maybe a government sponsored Company around to keep things under control, just sayin'.

Almost done! I stopped on episode 12.

You can also do "greeting card" in that same row.

There is definitely a government sponsored Company. Peter may or may not run into Claude again outside of Federal Plaza. *coughs*

Ha, so I was looking at icons, and check out this post. I looked at number 80 and then 81, and I laughed.

Aw, you should definitely see "The Wheel". That's like the classic Mad Men episode.

Hah, I have even less idea of what to do with "greeting card".

That sounds good to me indeed ;)

*snort* See? See? How no one else had made the connection we have is beyond me.

I will be on that one tomorrow!

I feel like it would involve Peter being lame.

I think people are subconsciously noticing!

It's a lot of fun, and you get to see Harry in his underpants. I don't know if that's much of an incentive, but it's hilarious.

*snort* As most things do, really. I feel like going to a supermarket and researching lame greeting cards, to find one he'd give. Or! Or! One they could sign together, for someone Claude didn't even really care about congratulation/well wishing. That could be adorable.

I think they'd be blind not to! When you linked me to that, the first things I saw were Covert Affairs icons, and I thought for sure someone had made something Auggie/Jai based. I was sort of disappointed that wasn't the case.

It's incentive enough. ;)

Peter would get one of those cards that plays music when it opens, and Claude would want to burn it.

There was one Auggie/Jai icon! But Auggie's face looked weird.

I hope so ;)

LOL. Oh god, he would! Or one with some horrible joke. Maybe Claude would chuckle at the ones with puns, because he likes those.

Hmm, I guess I missed it.

I saw one of those cards the other day for a 40th birthday and when it opened it played "Don't Fear the Reaper".

It's probably the only Auggie/Jai icon in existence.

I think I finished the First Date fic. Yay, accomplishment!

LOL. I don't think Peter would show that one to Claude. I think he might be a bit sensitive about the age thing.

Hah, I went back and looked, and it's not overly Auggie/Jai, but I would take it.

YAY!

I was going to get it just to stock pile, but I don't know anyone turning 40.

I was tempted. But I felt wrong having an Auggie/Jai icon before a Neal icon.

I am reading it over now and am considering posting it tonight if I think it's acceptable.

Well, you could hold on to it; someone you know is bound to fit that specification eventually.

Heh, I don't even have a Neal icon, either. I would consider getting an Auggie/Jai icon only for posting Auggie/Jai fic. Which I will not do. For now.

Hee, let's see how long I will stay awake waiting it. Probably for a bit.
