A fitting end to the year?
What a sucky way to end the year. Had to skip going to party, because there's been a very nasty virus doing the rounds of the family, and it wouldn't have been very nice to spread it to our friends. So instead I bought a new DVD player to replace the old broken one, and the kids watched a couple of movies. Now we're all sitting around bored, except the youngest who fell asleep, and I'm wishing it would hurry up and be 2009 already so we can drink sparkling apple cider and make everyone go to bed.
I could say that this is poetic justice, since 2008 sucked and 2009 will probably suck even worse, but I don't really feel that way. Let's just say that even though these are interesting times, that's not necessarily a bad thing. 2009 will be challenging, certainly, but that's all the more reason to try to keep a positive attitude. I'll need it, considering the challenges ahead.
