Cartwheels on the Inside

Just discovered something wonderful, thanks to the latter half of this episode of The Charlie Rose Show. Different people were sitting in and conducting interviews on behalf of Mr. Rose, one of whom was director Peter Bogdanovich. He was interviewing Isabella Rossellini last year about all of the things she was doing to commemorate the 100th birthday of her father, director Roberto Rossellini.

One of her forms of tribute was My Dad is 100 Years Old, a 17-minute short film directed by Canadian auteur Guy Maddin. The other major work was In the Name of the Father, The Daughter, And The Holy Spirits: Remembering Roberto Rossellini.
I have seen the film a couple of times, and find it a charming, intelligent and poignant tribute, both from daughter to father and from one artist to another. Well, at the very end of the interview, Rossellini said a DVD of the film was available with the book!

I cannot tell you how overjoyed this makes me.
