A few years ago I read Shelley's Jackson's The Melancholy of Anatomy, a lush and visceral story collection with an overarching theme of the human body. I read a lot, but this one has stayed with me long after, and even left a little yellow Post-It note in the back of my brain saying simply, "Find MORE from her ( Read more... )

I emailed her months ago (years ago?) and asked to be part of that, but she never got back to me. Maybe she'd already had enough volunteers.

According to the website, her inbox has anywhere from 8 to 12 thousand messages, so I wouldn't take it personally. And given the fact that people apparently get their words and then turn them down, she needs to keep a roster of willing volunteers.
Don't lose hope - you might be a part of it after all! :)

Oh, I didn't. :) And goodness knows if she contacted me I'd still do it. I think mostly I'm bummed I didn't think of it first. :)
