[edit]. Borough Market is sweet, it's like fresh fruit, veggies, and meat, and fairly cheap. Lots of quintessential English food too, like blackcurrant wine, goose fat spread, gooseberries, bread, English cheeses, fresh fish, meat pies/pasties, strawberry tarts, etc. Ate a venison wrap and a goat's cheese/sweet potato pie. Lovely. Lots of photographic opps too, saw lots of photographers.
Wine tasting at the Vinopolis. Learned how to analyze wine by sight, smell, and taste, and tasted (4 wines, 1 champagne, 1 port). The champagne was great, and port is sipping delicious. Wines are amazingly complex, like in what kind of barrel it was aged, what flavor of wood, spices, chocolate, zest, berries, where it's from, blahblah. Note to self, Otima's Tawny port, Don Maximiano (sp?) wine...can't remember the name of the champagne x_x Also a complimentary Bombay Sapphire gin cocktail, excellent stuff. So Sarah and I were "relaxed" and content, so we came back to take a nap. Not particularly sleepy though.

Thursday-
Saw As You Like It, which was amazing. The actress who played Rosalind, Helen McCrory (sp?) was lovely -- one moment she could be serious, the next, giggling like a schoolgirl, strutting male bravado, indignant...she's famous in London theater, surprise. Jess, (Yale, knows Easha!) who is a huge AYLI fan, says the London production was the best she'd seen. It was jazzy and people were dressed in the 50s -- the suits and the hats, music. Quite spiff.
Friday-
Shopping after class. Feel well on my way to being a fashionable European with no cash.
Riverboat disco cruise, which seemed more fo rthe int'l LSE ppl than for Americans. People went from sober to drunk alarmingly fast :p Sarah and I were leaning against the railing and a French guy asks us "ladies" if we could step aside so he could go to the bathroom. Which meant, "I want to pee over the side of the boat!" accompanied by raucous cheers ;;; Still, met a few people, like another H. Was quite amused because the way that he carries himself / dances -- you can tell that he doesn't have a self-esteem problem. Haha I looked him up and he's in Pfoho next year, uncanny.
Some guy accidentally "ash"ed me on the boat and it f-ing hurt, but I figured it would look better in the morning. Looks worse now, burnt and blistery. Woe my beautiful skin!
oh, btw, even though it is HBP day, diehard HP friends -- have not seen much ado, ie, have not seen many bookstores open at midnght. There aren't that many book chains here, or many kids in this part of London. But here's a picture I snapped a week ago...
