It's been so hot here at times in the last week that I've gotten sick from it. Pokémon Go having events in the middle of it, like last weekend's Pokémon Go Fest 2024, has not worked out well for me. Almost no one was out visibly playing due to the punishing sun and temperatures. Sunday, I got so beaten down that I spent my last hour outside playing driving my car from gym to gym instead of walking anymore.

(My car's air conditioning not working isn't great for me either, since the windows being all the way down only does so much. By the way, the Elantra is still running through oil ridiculously fast, since Hyundai refuses to pay to fix the issue and I don't have the money to replace my car's entire engine. But Hyundai's recall on the anti-lock brakes situation finally came through for my year and model and was repaired, so I no longer have to worry about my brakes leading to my engine catching fire. During that appointment, their service section scared the crap out of me over something, so I have further reason to never go to Koeppel Hyundai again unless I have no other choice. It's a shame that both the local Hyundai dealership/service departments I've gone to sucked, just in somewhat different ways.)

Just recently I was being amazed Medicare/Medicaid was still covering my physical therapy after four months, so of course this week I was told that's coming to an end. We're tapering off to one day a week for the next two to three weeks, then it's over. My legs and ankles have gotten stronger, and my balance has improved, but I'll have to adjust to having less structure in my life after months of two appointments a week.

Just like the New York state government screwed with me by sending an erroneous notice about my Food Stamps in May, which resulted in me traveling to an office in person to be told that after a phone call with a clueless representative of the Human Resources Administration just further compounded my confusion, in June it further screwed with me by doing similar with Medicaid, with this resulting in more panic and two in-person office visits, with one visit directly contradicting the other.

I'm watching House of the Dragon but can't help being frustrated by the large number of characters repeatedly making stupid decisions in it, even by Game of Thrones standards. I couldn't really get into season two of the Interview with the Vampire TV show from how you can't trust its narrators' word on almost anything since they're unreliable due to either them lying or them being gaslit and their memories altered, which made it hard for me to get invested. The untruths often didn't even feel like they meant or signified much. I'm watching season two of The Eminence in Shadow, though sometimes it's more like hate-watching due to my feelings about Cid. I watched the dub of Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead until the season finished.

I've been a bit blocked on writing fic recently. I miss having people to talk out my WIPs with.

I've posted some window display and cemetery photos I shot during recent weeks my Flickr.
