I should be fine, but it's all too much
The Prodigal Son Discord I mentioned a while back now has about 90 different channels, with a very active mod who immediately steps in when they feel conversation should be moved to another channel. (I'm estimating the number of channels. Last time I was there a few months ago I counted 70-something, and they've gotten even more since then but I don't feel like taking the time to count how many more.) With the new season starting Tuesday night, I'm so glad I checked the announcements channel first because current episode talk was now to go into a different new channel, the length of time spoilers of new episodes have to be kept to a single channel has lengthened, and there are more things you have to black out as a trigger warning thing. Like incest, even though a father/son pairing is a huge thing in the fandom. It feels stifling to me.
It also doesn't help that it feels like 95% of the people there didn't engage with anything I posted. Oh wait, one person replying was a mod telling me to move what I was saying at one point from the "current-episode-chat" current episode spoilers channel to the "spoilers/theories" channel. Even though it takes off from something introduced in the current episode. Even though other people wondered about the topic a little earlier in the channel.
It was a pretty happy place for me for several months last year but no longer.
