My left ankle turned under me again, a month and a half after
the last time. This time while I was shooting some photos of Bloomingdale's Pride-themed window displays. I was just sidling left and bam! Adding to my frustration, the initial injury was fast but my fall felt like it's in slow motion... but not enough for me to consciously get my body to stop the fall, which is usual for me and just emphasizes the feeling of helplessness. My fall started leftward but then went backward. I should be thankful that I might not have been able to avert the fall completely, but as I fell on my back I managed to hold my head up so my skull didn't touch concrete. My ankle is bruised, swelling a bit, and painful, but my only other hurt is the heel of my left hand, and that didn't even break skin.
I'm home now and have an ankle brace on it and keeping it elevated and it hurts but it'll take time to see how bad it really is.
I applied pressure to it while sitting in my car at red lights. Bergdorf Goodman's window displays were merely okay, and since there was no nearby parking so I'd have to walk a ways on my injured foot to get to them and back, I decided Bergdorf wasn't worth it.
But here's two photos from the group I shot tonight.
