For the Night Is Dark and Full of... I Don't Know

After dealing with The Magicians' awful season finale, I figured that at least Gotham's series finale couldn't be that bad. But, instead, it was boring. How did they make it so, so boring? The writers even managed to make the Joker the most boring part of Cameron Monaghan's run of various Jokerish characters. The show went out with worse than a whimper, it went out with a "...meh."

Though at least I could see the (boring) goings-on in Gotham. In episode three of the current season of Game of Thrones, “The Long Night," I spent a lot of time failing to figure out what was going on in the literal darkness. Are those people? Which ones? What are they doing?
