The Unbearable Frustration of Being

Apr 17, 2018 23:00

The trust I'm in so I can have Medicaid is riding my last nerve lately because I can't fax my disbursement requests (requests to get them to pay my bills with my money I sent them to hold and apply so Medicaid doesn't think I'm too rich, lol) to either of their machines! At best, one page gets through on the fax the last few days, though I don't know how that's possible. Have any of you heard of something like this? They claim none of their other "clients" is having this problem. I've tried at non-peak hours--like 5 a.m., 11:30 p.m., and 9:30 p.m.--but it makes no difference.

Even better, my landline company considers each dial/fax attempt a separate long distance phone call. Can't wait to see next month's bill.

They said I could scan the bills and receipts they require and e-mail them, but my printer/fax machine/scanner/copier is about seven years old from a company that died a few years ago and I don't know if I dare try to hook it up and install software from its DVD on my new Windows 10 machine, so I can't scan to my laptop and e-mail things. My bills have deadlines, and if I can't get the disbursement requests in to the trust in time, they don't get paid.

The phone bill is most urgent. The request page got through to the trust, but not the rest so they refuse to pay out. I took a photo of each of the two remaining pages and e-mailed it to the trust, though I don't know if they'll accept them. I'll mail the %$#*&! 21 pages of all my other requests and receipts tomorrow; the postage price may be fun.

I guess I'll have to see if anyone has an all-in-one machine that isn't priced too far above me, though the fact that I keep laying out money for a situation that's supposed to save me money annoys me, as does putting a lot of work into packaging and transmitting my disbursement requests. I have to pay them $80 monthly and an additional $50 annually for "admin" fees, but my other choice to qualify for and have Medicaid is actually even worse and more expensive. All of this contributes to me being poor as hell.
