After All These Years
I'm at a section of "Glass Houses" [@ AO3] where I felt the need to do a bit of GH canon review, fortunately, since I'd gotten some new things wrong out of forgetting and seriously need to rewrite. Holy crap, I forgot a lot. (Well, I did write that section over seven years ago.) Sometimes I get crushed by the weight of my own continuity....

Ah, episode 17 of Haikyuu!!, the first part of the Karasuno vs. Date Tech face-off. You will occasionally get chills watching a match between two high school volleyball teams. I swear. I watched the episode twice in a row and watched the craziest deviant quick sequence two more times besides. Great pacing, the culmination of several characters' and the team's arcs, callbacks to what they've learned, the scrappy evolving underdog team facing down the champion team-to-beat, competence and strategy as sexy.... I can see why this series has a big fandom. It's gonna be rough waiting another week for the next part of the match.
