When I went out today to get into my car to drive to a dental appointment, I saw that the driver's side mirror was 3/4 of the way off and hanging. Somebody had hit it with their car sometime between 9:15 p.m. last night and 2:30 p.m this afternoon and moved on without a word. It's currently secured with strips of masking tape and needs a new housing, like I haven't already spent hundreds of dollars on replacing things on my car in the last few months. I so don't have the money for this, and it's going on a credit card along with everything else. I am so upset.
I hate parking on the street in my neighborhood because there's always scratches and scuffs showing up in the oddest places and nothing ever happens when I can see it, but I don't have a garage nor the money for one.
ETA: I got it replaced for a little bit cheaper than I expected, but the after-market mirror housing the garage ordered is matte black instead of shiny black like the car and I didn't see it until they'd installed it already. When I talked to the guy who heads the shop, he told me that painting it to match the car would cost $95! The matte black is a primer. Argh. There's no way I'm paying $95 for a paint job on such a small piece, so matte black primer it stays. Beggars can't be choosers, I guess, but aaaaaaargh.
