I took back my car today. It turns out that the auto body shop I left it at Thursday morning had no time open and had intended to just let my car sit there until Monday. Also, that I was misled into trying to pay $40 a day for a rental car myself, which meant I'd be paying $200 for a car before my own was even looked at

Garages can be so annoying sometimes. My civic was just in the garage to have a new hood put on. They told me to drop it off bright and early on Monday. It didn't go in until the end of the day Tuesday and wasn't even done until Thursday. Just for a hood. I'm lucky enough to be able to borrow a vehicle from a relative and not have to get a rental, but I can certainly sympathize with what you're going through.

This coming time my rental will be covered at least. I hate that car repair is so inundated by mechanics/whatever lying to their customers.

mechanics piss me right the fuck off, and they ALWAYS pull shit on women but only sometimes pull this shit with men. I had my volvo worked on once and they said there was a problem getting the part and kept it for something like six days. Stupid fuckers had fixed the car, someone had borrowed it and been driving. It had a full tank when I turned it and was sitting on E when I picked it (it had a locking gas cap so they hadn't been able to fill it and cover it up.) I still had the reciept from gassing the car up just before dropping it off oh CHRIST did I riot on that shit. I managed to track down the owners HOME number and threw a fucking FIT and got not only my gas reimbursed but also roughly what renting that car would have been during that time period, and I seriously suspect the money came out of someone severance check, which IMHO was appropriate, that was STEALING as far as I'm concerned. Stealing my gas, stealing mileage, stealing wear and tear on my car
