Night Out

Three pages of new photos! Three pages! More window displays--with mannequins or live people--than you can shake a stick at, since I shot at and around Fashion's Night Out. Plus, two people dressed like bedbugs.

Fashion's Night Out was crazy crowded, more crowded and chaotic than last year. Also not as much fun as last year, partly because I had no one to go with. I actually made it into Bergdorf this year since I arrived earlier but couldn't see the dog fashion show three people back from the stage. Sadness. While I was there, only Mark Badgley and James Mischka of Badgley Mischka got up on the runway with their dogs so so everybody could see their bride and groom dressed doggens, dressed that way in honor of legal gay marriage in NY host James Aguiar said. I couldn't even get near the sidewalks in front of Yves Saint Laurent, Versace, and Sephora so I don't know what was going on in there.

Oh! Christian Siriano was at Payless Shoes on Lexington but the line was too crazy.

Nowhere near as much free goodies and eats this year, and a lot of times I arrived just when they ran out. Sorry, no cupcakes for me. What I did get: I got a sample of Michael Kors fragrance at Bergdorf's: "Gold." It's not bad when sprayed on fresh, but I had to desperately wash it off because it turns strong. My reaction turned to "Holy crap, I can't get Gold off!!!" I got a tiny can of carbonated white wine, which I thought was awful.

Now some stuff just for my LJ:

Cartier cat earrings, necklace, and bracelet. I don't know how much they cost. I probably don't want to know. These photos aren't as sharp as I prefer, but I took them in the rain while balancing an umbrella between my jaw and shoulder to have it somewhat over my head and camera. You can click on the images to get a look at them larger.

Fur-sleeved coat at Bergdorf Goodman. You know all this on-trend fur makes me sad for animals, but I had to go up and touch the sleeves, which were so soft. Then I saw the price tag. What else are you going to use $4,000 for, a down payment on a car?

Lazy Eye at Bergdorf Goodman, 9-9-11. Someone fell down on the job here.

Teeth at Saks Fifth Avenue, 9-8-11. I prefer my mannequins with their mouths closed. They look freakier with them open.
