This job of mine and what I end up with each day changes so dramatically and wonderfully. Some days are full of nasty paperwork that I hate and loathe, lots of numbers that fight with me, lots of details that I don't have all the answers to. And other days, my boss gives me cookies and a thank you card for the start of the school year. I get to play ping-pong with middle school kids and discover that I'm actually really good at ping-pong! I see my kids in the hall at school and catch up on summer activities. I run into my peers at outdoor cafes and chit chat about plans, ideas and dreams. I have meetings at the local coffee place, very important meetings that get me better connected with the important folks in my field. And there was that one day, when I got back from vacation, that I found out that we got the grant my boss and I labored over all of April. I count myself so very fortunate to be where I am and feel the appreciation and fulfillment I get. I know a lot of folks, many of you out there who read this, do not have a job or career that you love or fills you with pride. I sincerely hope and pray that someday you are able to find one. I put that energy out there for all of you who need it.
work is good,
