five hundred, twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes
i am listening to the soundtrack for rent. oh man, i love musicals. anyway, i am sitting in the massive, i would say elitist library of the university of toronto. an architectural giant, twelve floors of brimming with volumes, journals, and books on every possible subject under the sun, actually sinking a few centimeters each year because those commissioned to erect this thing forgot to consider the weight of the books. it looks like a peacock -no joke, it is something that the campus tour guides like the point out and it does in fact, look like a peacock. i am still plodding away at my comparative essay, fitting details of the dreyfus affair in the context of kafka's the trial. i am at my conclusion and then a bit of editing. i have been flicking through albums featuring friends and people i barely know in all their photographic glory prancing around the various caribbean islands. turks and caicos, cheap resorts and whatever else as a last hurrah. i wonder how these people can afford the vacations that they do -one acquaintance has been to the caribbean twice now since the year started, and has been to blue mountain for a snowboarding week, weekend, whatever. i can barely afford tea four days a week. honestly man. i am dying to get away and recently a friend's sister sent me an email for a summer camp in france and eee, i fulfill all of the qualifications and while that's certainly no guarantee that i'll get the position, fingers crossed everyone. this conflicts with the family pilgrimage back to central america. i do not know what to do. everything is still up in the air but the possibility that i could finally travel to europe has me excited. also, whee to joshua radin in a couple of weeks.
