Just kidding! I just typed what I heard from the ads about Blade the Series. Lmao.
Today was insanely intense, watching my favourites win the Amazing Race - yay for Tammy and Victor. I'm just glad that Luke and Margie (deaf kid and mum team) lost, since they irked me to no end a couple of episodes back. Meh, it's not like Tammy and Victor's gonna share their million with me right? Lol.
After that, it was watching the live webcast for the morning graduation ceremony. It was rather surreal to see familiar faces on the Net, getting their diplomas and hoping that I don't make a fool of myself later by tripping or going forward before the cue (which I actually did in the end anyways).
Then it was a mad scramble to get ready and to make matters worse, it started to rain. If I lived beside the school, it wouldn't have mattered but I freaking live at the opposite end of the country, for goodness sake. I was praying for the taxi to arrive faster and requested for the cab to rush, if possible. Traffic slowed down to a crawl at the CTE and I panicked cos it was already noon, the reporting time and I was not even near Clementi. I doubt I'll even make it past the first leg if I ever joined the Amazing Race (which is NEVER gonna happen btw.) Lol.
Thankfully, we still managed to arrive on time somewhat. Sue, the lovely lovely darling that she is, waited for me at the door and we headed into the lecture theatres within the convention centre - throughout my 3 years, I NEVER knew there were LTs there. Then again, I can still get lost in school. Then we were separated so I never got to see everyone else. T.T
The ceremony went smoothly although I just wished that the audience and the other non-HLM graduands were more supportive. It seemed like only the mood makers were clapping. Or maybe people got overwhelmed by the stage design or something. *shrugs*
I'm just pleased that the HLMers made our presence felt and heard. <3 (Ok, so that is an understatement cos I'm so proud of us! GO HLM!)
Jia Zhen and I later got lost, after going on stage and we skipped the next stage to get our diplomas - we actually went back to our seats instead. Hence we were definitely surprised when the others who were in the line before us weren't back yet. We learnt our mistake and we crept back to get our diplomas so I didn't manage to cheer for Alisa. The aunties at the counter were certainly not very pleased with us. *rolls eyes* We rushed back in time to cheer for Hazwani and then it was everything was over.
I just wished that the school could have bought more food so we could have at least had a top-up cos I never got to eat ANYTHING from the table (at least until I sneaked in to the VIP lounge to grab what was left much later). Stepping out into the lobby was just - words can't fully describe the awe that struck me, seeing everyone in robes; taking photos with loved ones and with each other, hugging and flitting around to take snapshots after snapshots.
Ms Kan hit the nail on the head when she said, we were certainly made the most noise. It was fitting, considering our reputation. Hehe. We loudhailed for each other and took our group shots. Chaotic would be the best word to describe us! So many eyes were on us.
In hindsight, I just realised that today seemed to parallel the Amazing Race. Awesome. XD
Therefore...
Three years,
Six semesters,
One institution.
In a race to be the best.
Congratulations to the graduating class of 2009.
You each have gained a treasure trove of memories,
lifelong friends
and skills that will take you further.
You are now officially a graduate, ready to face the world head on.
CONGRATULATIONS!
God, I am so lame. Lol.
But I am seriously going to miss everyone.
(ALSO, what the heck lah. I had to go home first and told Dan to call me once they were done with their meal and decided where to go and until now, they haven't called me up to meet them. T.T Ah well, the next time then.)
