I swear I'm spamming messages here because they matter... Not. Anyway. I made clam chowder just a bit ago, even though it is hot as hell. I cut the recipe out of the book into quarters, and made up a few extra things as well. I added garlic, cut down on the onion, doubled the bacon. I love bacon. Anyway. I just felt like putting it here.
1/2 cup chopped/baby clams
1/2 cup clam juice
1 medium diced potato
~1/8 cup chopped onion
7/8 cup milk
3/4 tablespoon flour
slice of bacon
some garlic
dash of worcestershire, salt, pepper, etc
Start by cooking the bacon in whatever pot/pan you intend to cook everything else in. Once you're done cooking it, take the bacon out and set it aside, we'll come back to it. Don't get rid of the bacon grease. You're going to cook the potatoes and onions in it, along with the clam juice, until the potatoes are soft. Add the garlic at some point near the end of this, or just at the end. Then you'll add in the clams and 3/4 of a cup milk. Mix the rest of the milk and the flour together, then stir them into the chowder. Cook and stir until bubbly, or you think it's good enough. Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and bacon, as well as anything else you feel like putting in.
That's all I remember doing, and it turned out pretty good. Makes a good solid meal for one person, or a decent snack for two.
