I always make a daily visit to Spoofee.com (which you should too, imo) Anyway, today they posted a deal which I won't be taking advantage of due to physical location issues, BUT, they have a little USB tuner stick that lets you watch and record HDTV to your PC. I didn't expect to get sucked into a long post about circuits but I read the whole thing you wrote on Wii sensors and was utterly delighted that I understood all of it. I'm taking second semester physics right now and we haven't gotten to magnetism yet but we had four weeks of thermodynamics at the beginning (Carnot cycles, calorimetry, efficiency, engines, etc.) and for the last eight weeks we've looked at electricity a lot (Coulomb's Law, Gauss' Law, Ohm's Law, the first two Maxwell Equations) and we are learning about circuits right now (and solving for current, resistance, voltage potential, capacitance, etc. by collapsing them or making loop equations). You have no idea how nice it was to see a practical application for stuff I learned last week.
Oh and Val, you totally rock for posting that link. I keep reading the description of it expecting there to be some catch wherein it isn't the most awesome USB peripheral invented since rechargeable flash memory music players but I can't any sort of catch. I am pleased.
