I wonder what it takes to make an audiobook? I wonder if there's any point in my doing so?
You see, I'd forgotten how much I love this book I am reading (The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery, trans. Alison Anderson), and in rereading it occurs to me that if I were to do an audiobook, it would be this one. Of course, as a bestseller, this already has an audiobook, a well-beloved one if the reviews are to be believed.
But wouldn't it be fun? I think it's going on my project list. Fairly far down, but still. If I wanted to put it up somewhere online, I'm sure I'd need to find out the details of copyright law where such things are concerned, but I doubt it'd be trouble if I didn't charge for it; it's not like my little home project would impact the sale of the official version.
Fortunately, I'm giving the book to Joseph tomorrow, so I shan't be tempted to start immediately to the detriment of my other projects.
