GWAR
I decided to jump on my 1st chance to see a metal show in FOREVER. Me and all my friends got on the ICP bandwagon way back when, and no one seems to be interested in looking up tourdates for the old bands we used to see all the time.
well, a few of my friends were going to see GWAR and asked me to go with them. I'm glad I decided to forget that I had to go to work at 8am this morning and just go. I was paying for it come close to quitting time, but I'm home now so it's all good. Other than Ozzfest last year, I hadn't been to a non-psychopathic show in about 5 years, so I was kinda going in feeling outta place...but once the music started it was all good.
it is fun to try and start a "i say stomp you say woowoo" chant though..haha
Once dying fetus took the stage we wanted to start a...."I say stomp you say THE BLOOD RIVERS OF THE CHILDREN FLOW THRU THE DAMNED STREETS OF THE MOONLIT VILLAGE" chant....ok maybe you would have had to have been there to understand death metal humor...it was funny dammit :)
anyway, all that remains sucked, dying fetus blew...and GWAR WAS AWESOME! yes! OK...a few of you reading this might be a little shocked when I say that Gwar's stage antics blow anything ICP has ever done out of the water. It was so crazy, half the time I didn't know rather to throw up some devil horns or stand there wondering what I had gotten myself into..I loved it! I bitched out and kinda hung around the bar alot and had a few beers, but after seeing my friends looking like they walked out of a massacre, I'm kicking myself in the ass. I did go to work this morning with green fish baby blood on my face though
I think seeing Oderus Arungus have a sword fight with Arnold Schwartzenegger is the highlight of my life...plenty of other things going on...way to much for me to even try and describe with words. You just have to see it for yourself I think
Too bad I didn't know much of their new stuff, but I'm downloading it now :)
