Hi Hi.
Boy time flies. Ole LJ just doesn’t draw me in like it used to. I haven’t forgotten you though. It’s just hard to make time to write when everything is always the same.
Always the same in a good way though.
The MAN and I just celebrated our 2 year kissiversary. I'm sure you can figure it out but it's been 2 years since our very first kiss. And I plan on kissing him for another 2 years...and another 2 after that...and so on and so forth. Good times.
Great times, actually.
We went kayaking out at Amelia Island last weekend. It was alright. Amelia Island just more ocean-y than river-y so it’s a bunch of fish (jumping out of the water), birds, and sea grass. Wooo. Not so exciting. We did find a sandy little beach to paddle to. We pulled ashore and goofed off. I got a cactus stuck in my foot. Ouch! O! I found a little hermit crab too. After the beach excursion, we decided to paddle back. That was the hard part. We had to paddle against the current. I imagine that it didn’t help that I’d just stop paddling and look around, lol. Kayaking really wears you out though! After we got home I ate like 3 cheese sticks and took a 2 hour nap. Exhausting! I have to admit though, I’m loving kayaking…I think I have a new hobby.
The first time we went was for the MAN’s birthday (end of April). That was a blast. I planned a whole secret birthday weekend for him. That Friday night (his actual birthday), we had dinner with his Mom and her husband at a nice Japanese place. On Saturday, I woke up early and got everything ready. I woke him up and put him in my car. I then proceeded to drive us out to the Itchatucknee River. It’s really a lot of springs that make the water a chilly 72 degrees year round -during the summer you can float down it on an inner tube/ swim/ etc. Once we got there, I told him what I had planned. We rented a kayak and viola! I was hooked. It was beautiful. Quiet, serene, pristine, just lovely. We saw turtles, fish (through the clear water), birds, trees…much more fun to look out. When we reached the take out point, we went back to the car and I pulled out the picnic lunch (plus dessert) that I had made that morning for us -crunchy turkey pitas and fresh strawberries dipped in yogurt (and then dipped again in brown sugar or powdered sugar…YUM!). He loved that and I loved it too. More so because I’m a huge planner and I get a thrill from planning everything out perfectly. Anywho, I digress…after lunch we took a walk through the woods to Blue Hole Spring (the park’s largest spring) to do a little swimming. We both got in up to our waists. I pushed him in and I ran out. It was way too cold for me! We walked back to the car and drove home. We just cuddled and watched movies the rest of the night.
Then on Sunday, he guessed my surprise pretty early on. Which I wasn’t shocked…it was pretty simple. I got all dressed up in my black dress, heels, and necklace (can’t forget the make up) and I took him out to The Melting Pot (my little brother works there) for fondue. O god, it was delicious. We did the whole ordeal -drinks (blackberry margaritas!), cheese (with bread, veggies, and apples to dip), the entrée (steak, ahi tuna, chicken, shrimp, lobster tail, plus TONS of veggies)…and then, my favorite…the chocolate. We got it in S’mores…delish! They give you so many goodies to dip in! I was in heaven. I’m still craving it! So all in all, he really loved his birthday. His best birthday yet, he says.
We’re just so perfect together. Just a few more months and I’ll be moving in. I’m excited. O yeah! I’m trying to talk him into going to Ecuador for a surfing camp there. That’d be awesome! We’ll see though.
Other than the MAN, who consumes the majority of my time (and I love it!), Sandy and I still do our Thursday thing and we’ve been going to the gym as well. I started the South Beach diet…I lost 4lbs in the first week but then my lady time came so I can’t get an accurate weight until it’s over. I’m in Phase 2 now which means I can now eat whole grains -emmm! I got a few recipes from a SB cookbook that I’ve been making the MAN eat with me. If anyone else is on SB, then do NOT try the chocolate/ ricotta dessert…I wanted to puke. Enough of that now though.
The fam is doing well. I see my brother more now. It’s good to spend time with him. The parents are good as well…no complaints. My Aunt is getting married in June. I’m not going up there though. I remember the last time I traveled with my parents…nope, not doing that again.
Work is…well, work. Sales is getting better. I’m still working on my year-long project and doing exceptionally well at all. It brings in a nice chunk of extra cash during the month. I made my goal for this month though, which I’m really proud of (not that it’s a huge amount or anything :o).
I better get going though. Not sure when I’ll update next but I keep you guys in my thoughts and always wonder what you’re up to. Haha, with the way I update, I bet next time I write will be to tell you I’m engaged.
We’ll see….
+B+
Ps- thanks for the nudge, peke! :o)
